This July, Confirel proudly represented Cambodia as the sole Asian voice among 16 nations selected to pitch at the UN Food Systems Summit +4 Stocktake in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Standing in for Dr. Hay Ly Eang, Delegate Director Mr. Sakett Sophaseila joined an exclusive circle of global innovators and changemakers to spotlight Confirel’s pioneering cacao cultivation project—a model for climate-smart agriculture and rural empowerment. The pitch drew keen interest from investors and international stakeholders, reinforcing Cambodia’s emergence as a future hub for sustainable cacao.
Beyond the main stage, the summit offered rich moments of exchange and insight. Mr. Sophaseila engaged in dynamic dialogue with senior leadership from UNIDO and FAO, deepening partnerships and opening doors to new collaboration opportunities. A field visit to Ethiopia’s clustered wheat production sites further inspired ideas for scaling resilient, community-driven food systems back home.
As Confirel returns to Cambodia, we carry with us not just global connections, but a renewed determination to lead in sustainable agribusiness—and to place Cambodian innovation firmly on the world map.
